The city of Bath is absolutely lovely. The ancient architecture is beautiful and the city is full of charming people. We started our first day here with a breakfast at Sally Lunn Buns. This is a restaurant holding much history, as the oldest building in Bath, but also serves the most fluffy, delectable buns in the country. The jam was fresh and the buns so divine that we all wished we could have brought the recipe home. However, we soon discovered that the recipe is strictly kept a secret. Not even its own museum gives any hint to the buns' secret. After touring briefly through this one-room museum, we adjourned to the Roman Baths.
These baths were lovely and their history is remarkable. After the Romans invaded England, they discovered that those who bathed in the baths were cured of their ailments. The baths soon became a place of healing and of worshipping he Goddess Minerva. It was amusement well worth walking through. This expedition took up most of our day, but we were able to save time for a free walking tour of Bath. The tour was well executed and gave us all a genuine taste for the city.
We ended our day with another delicious meal. We ate at an Italian restaurant, called Sorro Sorro. The restaurant is known as the top restaurant in Bath. The employees were attentive to the needs of their customers and the food was delicious. The day was an amusing one, full of enjoyment. We will be sad to leave such a rapturous city.
The first eighteen pictures after the buns below are of the Roman Baths, while the rest are of the sights we saw on our tour.
